Want to learn more about YA Lit so that you can make better recommendations to students?  Join our book club and read one current YA book a month and come together to discuss in a book club fashion.  You can even earn PLU's.  E-mail Mrs. G for more information.

STUDENTS: Come join our book club! 
Want to meet new people and discuss fun books?  Join our Critics Corner Book Club.  We will read one book a month and then meet to discuss.  It'll be fun!  We can even extend our book club to the summertime if we get enough people.  Come sign up in the media center at the circulation desk.

Get Caught Reading during this week and your participating teacher will give you a coupon to come to the media center to receive a secret prize!

READ Poster Contest

Got a creative pose in mind?  Know how to breakdance?  Take a picture of yourself in a crazy place/position etc and enter into a contest to win a centerpiece of yourself in the media center as well as two movie passes. Get creative and beat those Collins Hill's media center pictures.  Look at their website for examples.  Make sure you save your edited  image as a JPEG and send it to Mrs. G for the contest that will be voted on during homeroom.

Read a Book=Get Food

We have flagged a few books in the media center and if you come in and check out one of these secret books and read it then you will win food from Chick-fil-A!

Twilight Party!

Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?  This contest will involve 4th block classes in which we will see which class can read and write the most book reviews on our Destiny catalog.  The winners will get a Twilight party that will involve Team Edward vs. Team Jacob relays and a popcorn party for a showing of Eclipse. 

Candy Guessing Contest

During this month, every time you check out a book you can enter a guess into our contest for how many jellybeans are in the container.  The winner with the correct number will win the huge container.

Book Trailer Contest

Read a good book lately?  Well then create a book trailer for it to show other people!  Refer to the technology page on this site for a reminder on how to use MovieMaker, and then submit your book trailer to Mrs. G by saving it to the media center folder on the shared drive before the due date.  The top 10 book trailers will be selected by a media committee and then they will be shown during homeroom for voting.  The winner will receive free Falcons or Gwinnett Braves tickets.  Get creative, people!

The school book fair is just around the corner!  Barnes and Nobles will be at our school soon, so save up your money to buy your favorite new releases.  Part of the proceeds will go to our media center to help us buy more fun stuff for you guys!  Go ahead and pick out those summer reading books!
